El doctorado de san Josemaría en la Universidad de Madrid, Pedro Rodríguez (p. 13-103). The doctorate of Saint Josemaría at the University of Madrid, Pedro Rodríguez (p. 13-103). The founder of Opus Dei arrived to Madrid in 1927 with the intention of doing his doctoral thesis in Law. The first project he undertook, on the priestly ordination of mestizos and cuarterones during the evangelisation of America, was lost during the Spanish Civil War. The discovery, in the General Archive of the Prelature, of a brief chapter of the draft has allowed for a reconstruction of the different phases of the itinerary of St. Josemaría, so as to arrive to the reading of a new memory of the doctorate, in 1939, regarding the peculiar canonical.

The apostolate of Opus Dei with women in rural Mexico acquired greater force through the work carried out in Montefalco, a former agricultural hacienda. This study recounts the arrival of the first members of Opus Dei to Mexico, the acquisition of the building, and the development of the first educational and spiritual activities, which would also become a farm-school for the inhabitants of the town.

In January 2002, for the celebration of the centennial of the birth of St. Josemaría, an international congress with the title “The Grandeur of Ordinary Life” took place. The publication of the event, in fourteen volumes, gives us an idea of the richness of the reflections, developed in nine reports, more than a hundred communications and in eighteen workshops. With different perspectives and methods, the material that this article presents has permitted us to grasp the force of the foundation light that St. Josemaría received.

Letters of Emiliano Amann to his family (1935-1936), José Carlos Martín de la Hoz & Josemaría Revuelta Somalo (p. 299-358). Twenty one letters, wrote between October of 1935 and July of 1936, by the young student Emiliano Amann Puente, to his family, during the time he lived in the Residence DYA, of Madrid were publicated. These letters constitute a historic resource of the first years of the Work of God, because they reflect the life in the first residence, and also the relationship that he established with San Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer and with other members of the Work. The letters are preceded by an extense introduction, which consists in a brief of its content, and it also gives notice of the situation of the country during those months previous to the beginning of the Civil War.
