The Josemaría Escrivá Center for Studies (CEJE), a section of the St Josemaría Escrivá Historical Institute at the University of Navarre, has created a monthly newsletter with information on historical aspects and events related to the history of Opus Dei.
The newsletter, of which the first three issues have already been published, includes interviews with historians and specialists on the history of Opus Dei, articles on the history of the Work, its founder, members, and apostolic initiatives. It also includes bibliographical news related to St. Josemaría Escrivá and Opus Dei, and information on events of various kinds, such as book presentations, seminars, workshops, and study days.
The creation of this newsletter is in response to the purpose of the Josemaría Escrivá Center for Studies, which seeks to promote research, particularly in the historical, theological and canonical fields, on the figure of Saint Josemaría and Opus Dei, to provide guidance and specialised bibliographical information to researchers for studies on Saint Josemaría and Opus Dei, and to maintain an exhaustive bibliographical collection, comprising the published works of Escrivá de Balaguer and scientific publications on his person and on Opus Dei.
The CEJE began its work in 1995. By decree of 26 June 2002, Bishop Javier Echevarría, Chancellor of the University of Navarre, completed its physiognomy, establishing that it would depend on the St. Josemaría Escrivá Historical Institute (ISJE) for its scientific and research tasks, with its headquarters in Rome, and for its organic, working, and administrative aspects on the Rectorate of the University of Navarre.
