Antonio Aranda has just published the critical-historical edition of the book “Friends of God”. This is the sixth volume in the Collection of the Complete Works of St. Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer (Madrid, Rialp, 2019, 955 pages.).
“Friends of God” which contains eighteen homilies on the theological and natural virtues, was published for the first time in 1977. This edition contains a comprehensive “General Introduction” organized into various sections, then there is the “Text and critical-historical commentary” of St. Josemaría’s book and finally there are two additional sections of indices and appendices.
Antonio Aranda lectures in Dogmatic Theology at the University of Navarre; he is also a member of the Royal Academy of Doctors of Spain as well as the Spanish Mariological Society. In addition, he is a member of Scientific Committees and he is an advisor to the St. Josemaría Historical Institute.
