The book focuses on the life of Salvador Canals, a life which, because of the intricate circumstances in which he found himself immersed, sheds light on some key events in the history of his time: above all, events in the particular history of Opus Dei and, because of his intense activity in the Vatican, also events in the history of the Church in general.
This edition contains a comprehensive “General Introduction” organized into various sections, then there is the “Text and critical-historical commentary” of St. Josemaría’s book and finally there are two additional sections of indices and appendices.
The Studi e Note section consists of four articles. The first article by Chris Noonan examines the establishment in 1954 of the Nullamore University Residence in Dublin and the commencement of Opus Dei’s apostolic activities in Ireland.
