Analizando los decretos emanados en el Concilio Provincial de Zaragoza en 1908 y los informes de las visitas ad limina realizados por Juan Soldevila y Romero en 1917 y 1922, se muestra, a grandes rasgos, la situación del clero y de los laicos de la Archidiócesis de Zaragoza en el primer tercio del siglo XX. La imagen que trasmiten estas fuentes ayudará a situar mejor los años de formación de san Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer en el Seminario de Zaragoza.

An analysis of the decrees issued by the Provincial Council of Saragossa together with the reports of the ad limina visits carried out by Juan Soldevila y Romero in 1917 and 1922, shows, broadly speaking, the situation of the clergy and the lay faithful of the Archdiocese of Saragossa in the first third of the twentieth century. The image presented by these sources will help us to better understand the years of study spent by Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer in the Seminary of Saragossa.
