Durante el desarrollo del Concilio Vaticano II, el beato Álvaro del Portillo fue secretario de la Comisión sobre la Disciplina del Clero y del Pueblo Cristiano, y consultor de otras Comisiones conciliares. Del Portillo había empezado a colaborar ya en 1947 en servicio de la Santa Sede; en la fase ante-preparatoria de la asamblea conciliar formó parte de diversas Comisiones. El presente artículo analiza, no sólo la tarea que le fue encomendada al frente de la Comisión conciliar De Disciplina Cleri et Populi Christiani, sino también su aportación intelectual y de contenido en aquellos trabajos que condujeron a la redacción final del Decreto Presbiterorum Ordinis.

During Vatican Council II, Blessed Alvaro del Portillo was the Secretary of the Commission for the Discipline of the Clergy and of the Christian People. He was also Consultor for other conciliar Commissions. Having started his service to the Holy See in 1947, Del Portillo was also a member of various prepreparatory commissions of the conciliar assembly. This article analyzes how Del Portillo carried out his task as head of the conciliar Commission De Disciplina Cleri et Populi Christiani. It also evaluates his intellectual contribution through the commission and through his works to the final redaction of the Decree Presbyterorum Ordinis.
