El artículo se centra en las personas que trató san Josemaría durante su primer viaje a Roma en 1946 y en el desarrollo de las gestiones para obtener la aprobación pontificia del Opus Dei y darlo a conocer en los ambientes romanos. Fue su primer contacto directo con la Curia vaticana y la Ciudad eterna. Especialmente importante fue la primera audiencia con Pío XII y la relación entablada desde ese momento con Mons. Montini.

This article centers on the people that St. Josemaría dealt with during his first trip to Rome in 1946 and the progress of the efforts to obtain Pontifical approval of Opus Dei and to make it known in Roman circles. It was his first direct contact with the Roman Curia and the Eternal City. His first audience with Pius XII is particularly important as well as the relationship established at that time with Msgr Montini.
