The Historical Institute promotes the publication of monographic studies about
St. Josemaria and Opus Dei.
So far, the following have been published:
Ramón Herrando Prat de la Riba
The seminary years of Josemaria Escriva in Saragossa
(1920-1925), Madrid, Rialp, 2002, 406 pages.
This is a documented study of the period in which Josemaria Escriva was a student and superior of the seminary in Saragossa. It focuses on the person of the young Josemaria and his immediate environment. It also addresses the historical and cultural factors characteristic of the era. The book concludes with a detailed appendix.
Jaime Toldrà Parés
Josemaria Escriva in Logroño (1915-1925),
Madrid, Rialp, 2007, 327 pages.
This study constitutes a detailed analysis, based on existing documentary sources, of the years that the Escriva-Albas family spent in Logroño between 1915 and 1925. This period included important events in the life of the founder of Opus Dei such as the discovery of his vocation to the priesthood and the death of his father, Jose Escriva.
